Come and walk, learn, play, explore, breathe.

Whether you want to learn about wetland ecology, get your hands dirty on a restoration project, or simply stroll through the peace and quiet of the bog, we welcome you to enjoy this special wetland sanctuary—the only place of its kind in Southeast King County.

Our most popular trail is the half mile boardwalk. This boardwalk weaves its way through the forest where you can see many native plants and listen to the birds and frogs that live in the forest. Half way along the board walk the ground changes from the rich soil of the forest to the rolling hummocks of ancient sphagnum moss. This trail is open daily from dawn until dusk. There are also three miles of trails on SHADOW's upland property. We manage access to these trail systems and ask that you give us a call if you are interested in visiting them.
