September Volunteer Spotlight

Adam Spears donated over 100 hours of his summer vacation from Green River College to SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve in the form of a Restoration Internship. During these past few months, Adam was hard at work removing invasive species from SHADOW’s grounds. He also learned to lead Saturday Restoration Work Parties with fellow volunteers. You might meet him, next time you are out volunteering!

The upcoming 22nd Annual Frog Frolic would have been an impossible undertaking without the work of Marilyn Acupanda and Mike Mutal. These two have spent tireless afternoons preparing items for the silent auction, decorating the education center, and planning the logistics of the event. Having attended since its origin, these Frolic veterans are invaluable to SHADOW’s staff each September.

We give a giant thank you to these hardworking volunteers!
