DESCRIPTION:Restoration Work Parties\nGet to know your local ecology first-hand by working at one of the various sites around SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve! \nThis week\, join SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve in clearing and preparing for our new trail extension! Use shovels\, hoes\, and picks to remove plants and grade a path. Learn about native plants and explore the new trail system. \nRestoration Work Parties take place Saturdays from 10am to 2pm at SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve. No previous experience or tools are required\, simply arrive with weather-proof clothing for working outside\, a water bottle\, and a smile. Please be aware that you may encounter muddy areas and plants with thorns. SUMMARY:Elegant Beauty: Artist Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Artists and art enthusiasts are invited to join the Sacred Hoop\, and SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve for Elegant Beauty– an Artist Collaboration. \nContribute your art inspired by the 5\,000-year history of SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve. \nAttend an Artist Day Workshop on June 17th from 12—4 pm\, for inspiration and to learn about the unique history of this wild space. Bring you own art supplies to create work on site\, or simply witness the creative energy at play! \nSelected works will be displayed for sale\, in SHADOW’s Richter Education Center from July 1st– September 15th. Works will be selected based on family appropriate nature of the content and telling of SHADOW’s story. Artists submitting work to be hung must submit no later that June  28th. \n50% of proceeds from the sale go directly to the artists\, and the remainder will act as a tax-deductible donation to these two dynamic nonprofit organizations. Unsold works will be returned to their artists after September 15th. \nArtists should be prepared to provide a small biographical display alongside their work. \nContact Us to sign up!
