DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION REQUIRED\nJoin us again for another early morning virtual class featuring Katie Remine\, Woodland Park Zoo’s Northwest Conservation Coordinator. Katie is back to share insights from research on our urban carnivores and discuss ways we can all support human-wildlife coexistence in our communities! Christine Anne\, Lead Animal Keeper at Woodland Park Zoo and SHADOW Board Member\, will then discuss how SHADOW has been involved with the Seattle Urban Carnivore Project and share photos of wildlife spotted on camera at the Nature Preserve. \nWoodland Park Zoo and Seattle University launched the Seattle Urban Carnivore Project to explore how mammalian carnivores\, such as coyotes\, foxes\, raccoons\, bobcats\, and even cougars and bears live and interact with people across urban and suburban areas in the Seattle region. Increasing contact between humans and carnivores potentially leads to more human-carnivore interactions and increased concerns about risks to humans\, whether real or perceived. The continued survival of urban carnivore populations\, as well as a sense of security for the public\, requires an increased understanding of and coexistence with these species. \nRegistration is now closed.
