SUMMARY:Forest Bathing with Cascadia Forest Therapy- September
DESCRIPTION:The art of forest bathing is the art of connecting with nature through our senses. All we have to do is accept the invitation.  Engage mindfully with the world around you on one of SHADOW’s beautiful upland trails on a two hour guided Forest Therapy Nature Walk experience with our new partner Cascadia Forest Therapy! Your sensory-focused time in the natural world will culminate in a lovely tea ceremony.\nThis event is fee based on a sliding scale with a per person cost of $50.00.\nTo pay for the class in advance please go to this link and pay what you can for the event.  Payment will be accepted the day of the event by SHADOW staff via check or online payment at the preserve.\nNo one will be turned away for inability to pay the full fee\, however we do need a minimum of 7 full-price paying participants to have this Forest Therapy experience.  A maximum of 15 participants will be allowed per session.  If there are not enough participants prior to class 72 hours prior to the experience\, the class will be cancelled and participants can either get a full refund for pre-payments or they can apply it to a future session.\n  \n\n	Notice: JavaScript is required for this content.\nNo Fields Found.

DESCRIPTION:  \nFrog Frolic is back after a long hiatus due to Covid-19 and we can’t wait to Frolic with you! \nJoin us for a fun-filled day on  Saturday\, September 16th\, from 1 – 5 pm. \nThis year’s Frog Frolic will be smaller  than in years past but will still have the traditional frolic festivities that you have come to expect from this beloved community event! Take a bog tour\, visit  conservation partner booth\, play children’s games\, or make crafts to help get everyone into the spirit of frolicking!  A small silent auction will spark friendly rivalry over treasured local experiences and gift baskets. \nThere will be a beer garden & non-alcoholic beverages and The Little Chicken Burger Food truck will be dishing our tasty fare!  Monica Sands from the King County Library System will be sharing stories for children of all ages!  Max Renshaw will be on hand to play a lively tune for the day! \nWe can’t wait to see you at the preserve and celebrate the beginning of the fall season with Frog Frolic!!! \nWhile registration is not mandatory for this event\, your doing so really helps us plan our activity supplies and for parking.  Please complete the form below to register for Frog Frolic. \n\n	Notice: JavaScript is required for this content.

SUMMARY:Mindful Restoration Workparty with Cascadia Forest Therapy!
DESCRIPTION:Help SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve thoughtfully restore and preserve the biodiversity of the land we steward by removing invasive weeds and pruning native species so that new\, native plantings thrive.  This work party will be facilitated with our partners\, Cascadia Forest Therapy\, to bring mindful intention to the restoration work. Basing the experience on the principles of Forest Bathing\, the work party will have a deeper connection to the plants and restorative intention than in our usual work parties. Your sensory-focused time in the natural world will culminate in a closing ceremony.\nNo previous experience or tools are required\, simply arrive with weather-proof clothing for working outside (closed toed shoes are a must)\, a water bottle\, and be ready to have fun while making a difference.
