Restoration Work Parties

Get to know your local ecology first-hand by working at one of the various sites around SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve!

This week, join SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve in clearing and preparing for our new trail extension! Use shovels, hoes, and picks to remove plants and grade a path. Learn about native plants and explore the new trail system.

Restoration Work Parties take place Saturdays from 10am to 2pm at SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve. No previous experience or tools are required, simply arrive with weather-proof clothing for working outside, a water bottle, and a smile. Please be aware that you may encounter muddy areas and plants with thorns. These events are held, rain or shine!

We suggest thick pants, long sleeved shirts, and boots that can trek through mud.
