Get to know your local ecology first-hand by working at one of the various sites around SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve!
Meet at SHADOW’s main entrance to protect the Nature Preserve from outside invaders! Pull weeds, collect trash, and beautify the 184th and Peter Grubb Road. High quality stewardship along these frequently traveled corridors is our best defense against invading weeds and polluting trash.
Restoration Work Parties take place Saturdays from 10am to 2pm at SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve. No previous experience or tools are required, simply arrive with weather-proof clothing for working outside, a water bottle, and a smile. Please be aware that you may encounter muddy areas and plants with thorns. These events are held, rain or shine!
We suggest thick pants, long sleeved shirts, and boots that can trek through mud.
