Virtual Wilderness Adventure Information
SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve believes that it is vital that our community have access to environmental education and nature learning opportunities. Through our Wilderness Adventure Virtual Experiences, students will participate in hands-on learning that is designed to fit each grade level and learning type. Our curriculum is based on Washington’s Next Generation State Science Standards and introduce key concepts to students in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Curriculum Offerings & Pricing
Each Wilderness Adventure includes a set of three videos with educational acivities and a teacher/educator guide to help walk students through video activities and questions. Teacher guides are designed for both in-person and remote learning to help facilitate the virtual Wilderness Adventure! Optional discussion questions and supplemental material also included with each teach/educator guide.

Wilderness Adventure Field Trip Information
SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve boasts a variety of plant communities and ecosystems to explore, including the rare and beautiful Shadow Lake Bog. With 3 miles of trails, covered picnic tables, a field for games, and an indoor Education Center, SHADOW is the perfect place for a field trip. While at SHADOW, students will participate in hands-on, experiential learning that is designed to fit each grade level and learning type. Trip offerings are based on Washington’s Next Generation State Science Standards and introduce key concepts to students in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
Cost
SHADOW believes that ALL students should experience this special ecosystem. Prices vary by curriculum and length. However, SHADOW offers a sliding scale based on percentage of students receiving free or reduced lunch, email education@shadowhabitat to learn more.
